One of the many fascinating things about water is it’s it's reflective nature.
I also appreciate it's taut and continuous surface. How it always strives to bend together to produce the least possible surface area.
That cohesive force in a liquid is know as surface tension and is caused by the mutual attraction of the molecules that make up water.
Being a sailor and a beach lover, I spend a lot of time looking at water and it still fascinates me. The photographer in me loves playing with it's seemingly infinite variances that evolve and change every minute.
Sometimes it's gin clear and so inviting...
...at other times it's dark and seamingly impenetrable.
To a photographer surfaces are fascinating but as a sailor it’s what lies underneath that is of utmost importance.
The same goes for the student-of-life in me, what’s underneath things is so fascinating to me…
We had a pretty mellow day today. A few easy boat chores and then some delicious knocking around the harbor. Nice!
At this point we are both more that ready to sail again and very much looking forward to that. Malo is in good working order and her crew are well rested. We have a good weather forecast for points south of here, we'll be on our way.
